Here’s The Rundown.

Interesting News
The FMCSA may have a new boss by the end of the month. Wait. What? I don’t know the full details, but you know something happened and new candidates for the position are being interviewed.

Trucking Nation Company of the Week
This week’s Company of the Week proudly goes to Trucker Tax Service! Founder and CEO of Trucker Tax Service, Jim O’Donnell, was kind enough to join me for an interview and a nice important chat about trucker taxes. Trucker Tax Service wants to spread the word about truckers needing a professional tax preparer that specializes in the trucking industry. Taxes for truckers can be complicated and end up costing a driver greatly if not done correctly. They do everything over the phone and want to help you get every deduction you deserve. Give them a call at 888.799.1099 to see what they can do for you.

Green Cleaning
It’s probably about time to give your truck a good cleaning. Before you get to scrubbing, do you know what’s in your cleaner? A lot, and I mean a lot, of cleaners have extremely harmful chemicals in them that can affect your breathing and irritate your skin and eyes. This time ’round, try cleaning your truck with green cleaning products. You probably even have all you need already. If you have some vinegar and baking soda, you’re all set for your first green cleaning adventure. I give you a great recipe for my favorite vinegar cleaner and some new ways to use baking soda in the podcast.

Trucker Fitness Tip
How’s your motivation holding up for working out regularly? Is it slacking a little bit? I have a great tip to get your motivation back up and get you excited to work out. Oh yes, such a thing exist. It might be a little unconventional but Tony Horton’s YouTube channel is the best motivational tool I have found in a long time. He’s the P90X guy and you can watch him for free and get amazing insight into hundreds of workouts and meals. What was most surprising was how entertaining he is. I’m never bored when following him during his workouts. Most of the workouts are easily adaptable for truckers.

Bucket List
You ever feel like you need to do a bit of soul searching? I was talking to a friend who is an OTR driver and somehow our conversation got on the subject of What’s Life All About? I asked her what was on her bucket list and she told me she didn’t have. If you feel a bit lost in this world, make a Buck List with all the things you want to do before you, well, kick the bucket. It gives you personal goals to work for and provides that extra bit of motivation to find your happiness in life.
