Trucking Nation Podcast: 19. RigMinder App, IFTA Audits, & Staying Hydrated

I only get to say this once a year – May the fourth be with you, Trucking Nation. I’ve loved Star Wars since I was itty bitty and Star Wars Day (May 4th) is always fun. I celebrate by sitting way to close to the TV with a big bowl of popcorn and watch The Empire Strikes Back. I’m a total child but I’m ok with it. I’ll move on now – hopefully I haven’t embarrased myself too much – to the actual topic of this blog and that is an amazing podcast.

For this week’s show, I have a great App review for you and some vital information about IFTA Audits. You know I have to talk about health and fitness and this week it’s all about staying hydrated. So don’t deprive yourself of the excitement that awaits…click that Play button.
Here’s The Rundown

RigMinder App
Do you ever forget things? Happens to me all the time. There is a great app that has been specifically designed for truckers to help them remember all those deadlines. You all have a lot to remember, and it’s a bit obnoxious, but you can have it all under control with the RigMinder App. It’s super easy to use and already has a very extensive list of deadlines for you to set and you can even customize and add your own. It is free to download on all Android and iOS devices. Never forget your deadlines!
IFTA Audit
Every driver with an IFTA license has the chance of being selected for an IFTA Audit. Three percent (3%) of IFTA license holders must be audited every year according to the IFTA rules. Some can be randomly selected, others may be chosen for specific reasons. The IFTA Audit process isn’t so bad and you are presented with all the information beforehand. Check out this blog – IFTA Audit Crash Course – for more information on how it all goes down.
Staying Hydrated
It has been mentioned that the majority of truckers are dehydrated and they don’t even know it. When was the last time you had some good ol’ H2O? Do you have to think about it? Then, my dear, it’s been too long. You have probably heard that we need eight 8oz glasses of water a day, but you actually need closer to a gallon. The best suggestion is to get a gallon jug of water and drink it throughout the day – total bodybuilder style. Drinking water isn’t the only way to hydrate; eating fruits and vegetables is a great way to get more water in your body.
There was a bit more in the show and it’s much more entertaining than this blog. Thank you so much for listening and be sure to stop by and like our Trucking Nation Facebook Page. Remember my dearest Trucking Nation, you get what you give in this world, so try to be kind and enjoy the ride. I’ll talk to you next week – Misty Noel.
